Photo (above): Compaction Grouting for Highway Rehabilitation: Moore & Taber has recently completed a highway rehabilitation project in Southern California, where compaction grouting techniques are being used to treat potentially-compressible backfill soils for a number of freeway bridge abutments. Grouting work was primarily conducted at night, since much of the remedial effort is staged from otherwise active traffic lanes. Compaction grouting was but one element of a larger overall highway improvement project.
